This marketing technique is a perfect use for short reports and has been quietly building lists and large incomes for information marketers for several years. This is a lucrative method you would be wise not to ignore it.
Here’s an example of how it works. You might write articles and short reports on your niche topics, adding a resource box at the end with a couple of sentences about you and your link back to your sales page or a bio page in a short report.
You submit your articles to online article directories, or use a submission service, for publication. Marketers looking for new content to put on their blogs and in their newsletters, for one, can freely download your articles and use them to keep new information in front of their subscribers and to keep Google happy, of course.
The key here is new content. With blogs springing up everywhere on the Web on a daily basis and newsletters flying back and forth all over emails, your market is endless. The viral effect that is so powerful is the way articles silently spread out worldwide, carrying your name and link with them. You can get traffic for years from every article submission you make.
Short reports can have the same effect, but in a different way. They are very effective as giveaway products and will be picked up and used by blog and newsletter publishers, as well as website owners looking for freebies for their customers. When you are writing your short report, add a page that tells a little bit about your background and interest in the subject. Be sure to add links back to all your sales pages.
The format to use is informational with links scattered throughout the pages. For example, if your topic is how to have a bug-free garden naturally, you would insert links where appropriate for environmentally approved products that repel snails and earwigs. If you can, become an affiliate for every product you promote. That gets you a viral product to use. Here’s what to do with it.
Before you do anything else, write your statement describing clearly what the rights are that come with your short report. In this case, giveaway rights. Use samples from other products you have that various rights spelled out to write yours just as clearly. Add the same statement on the bio page of your short report, or out it on a separate page. You want this declaration to be prominent.
Put your free short report on your sales pages as a freebie and add the link to it on your signature for forum posts and emails. People will naturally gravitate, or run, to free information and might just be attracted to your other products visibly displayed near the giveaway. Those products could include some with Master Resell Rights, which would give you a two-level income stream possibility. One when you sell the ebook or product with MRR and another when you sell the Master Resell Rights separately.
Short reports you write can be sold with or without Master Resell Rights, too. It is the creator of the product who determines the individual rights that go with the products. That would be you when you write your own reports.
