These rights are normally listed as Master Resell Rights, or MRR. When you buy ebooks or other products with these rights, you can resell the product and keep all the money. The most valuable part of this package is the right to pass on the Master Resell Rights to your customers.
You can profit from Master Resell Rights in two ways. The simplest method allows you to just sell the ebook or product with the resell rights attached. This will increase your profit some by charging a higher price, but strangely enough not that much higher, as you see as you get further into the subject.
A better method, from your income point of view, is to sell the ebook for a reasonable amount and offer the Master Resell Rights as a separate, more expensive purchase. This method also raises the perceived value of your product in your customer’s eyes.
Using this two-level marketing technique gives value to both customer types who will be attracted to your sales page. Non Internet marketing browsers who are just searching forĀ searching for content for personal use are happy with just the ebook itself and have no intention to resell it. Internet Marketers though, just like you, get two possible new income streams…one from the ebook sale and one from the sale of the rights.
Be sure to check out the rights that come with any information product very carefully before you offer it for sale to anyone. Most MRR products will not allow changes, editing or rebranding the embedded links. Never, ever offer more rights to your customers than you possess. Copyright and rights violations can be expensive when you are talking to lawyers.
What you usually can do, however, is make changes to the sales page, graphics and the download page to reflect your influence on the Internet Marketing scene. With that said, still check it out with every product you buy.
The owners of the product can always include additional restrictions to their rights statement, like controlling selling price and limiting or forbidding bundling the product with other offers or adding it to membership sites. They all know who bought their products and they keep an eye on how those products are being marketed by others.
Making your products appealing to more than one type of customer is smart marketing.
